Grand Opening of the AMARA Hotel, Cyprus

After 12-years in the making, the AMARA Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus, is officially open and in true Cypriot fashion, the hotel group pulled out all the stops for their opening ceremony, which was a lavish, spectacular three-day celebration; including a kick-off ‘white party’, grand opening party and ended with Nobu’s signature sake ceremony.

On Saturday evening, as the sun set, the Cypriot elite, government officials and media gathered together to celebrate the benchmark hotel. Following the ribbon-cutting by former president George Vassiliou, who was later joined by current president Nicos Anastasiades, the celebrations commenced continued into the early hours, with entertainment including; an innovative dining experience provided by celebrity chefs, Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, Giorgio Locatelli, and Giorgos Papaioannou; an acrobatic performance in transparent spheres on the pool; extravagant fireworks display; music by harpist Víctor Espínola; and an exclusive performance from 2018 America’s Got Talent star, Glennis Grace.

“Drawing on our client’s vision, SB Architects designed a resort that was contemporary whilst in keeping with the spirit of the surroundings, focusing on maximizing views, showcasing the environment, and creating a world-class resort,” says SB Architects Senior Vice President and Principal, Mark Sopp. “After a decade of collaboration with our client, Stademos Hotels PLC., we’re delighted to see this remarkable project complete, welcoming guests and celebrating Cypriot hospitality.”
