The Mission Hills Volcanic Mineral Springs and Spa has received the International Property Award for the Best Leisure Development in the Asia Pacfic Region. The spa complex was named the Five Star Winner for the region – the global award program’s highest honor. The centerpiece of the Mission Hills Haikou resort on China’s Hainan Island, the Volcanic Mineral Springs & Spa is the world’s largest spa complex. Designed by SB Architects and landscape architects EDSA, the spa complex measures an incredible 21 acres, made up of five zones that pay homage to traditional bathing rituals on the continents of Asia, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The iconic, 215,000-square-foot main spa is the central defining feature of this magnificent destination experience.
The International Property Awards are open to residential and commercial property professionals from around the globe, and celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all aspects of the property and real estate development industry. The awards are organized by region, and include Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, the Caribbean, Central/South America, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. In 2014, there were a total of 729 entrants from the Asia Pacific Region, hailing from 24 different countries.
