Disney Paris Eco-Resort
This eco-friendly resort outside Paris is comprised of two distinct parcels, one nestled in a forest setting and the other along a lake with a series of waterways meandering through the site. Each is designed with a different lifestyle in mind, one promoting social interaction and activity, and the other fostering privacy and an intimate relationship with nature. Although architecturally different, each is designed to maximize the use of sustainable materials and building techniques. A modular approach to design, with many building components fabricated off-site, allows low impact construction and “treads lightly on the land” with buildings floating on pilings over the natural terrain and water edges. This modular approach also promotes an indoor/outdoor lifestyle with interior spaces separated by outdoor decks and walkways.
