Lavastone
SB Architects has designed multiple components of this expansive resort, which contains 10 golf courses. The first phase of townhomes, villas and condominiums - in various midrise configurations - is completed with additional phases underway. The design for Lavastone is an interpretation of tropical island architecture, using natural materials and lush landscaping. Clustered structures and stepped massing create a village environment. The architectural vocabulary evolves from traditional to more contemporary in progressive phases, giving depth to the overall design of the community, and a sense of individuality to the each phase. The firm also designed Mission Hills Volcanic Mineral Springs and Spa, the largest spa complex in the world, as well as a sports complex and community center to serve the residents of this expansive resort residential community.Information
