The measure of any creative company is its people. At SB Architects, we cultivate a disciplined work environment that rewards creativity and integrity. Our professional staff is committed to innovative contemporary design solutions in the hospitality, mixed-use, and residential space. This year, we are proud to announce that in addition to growing our SB family, we have promoted eight of our talented designers.
We believe diversity has always been one of our greatest strengths. It is at the core of our thinking. It keeps our perspectives broad and, importantly, our inclusive culture enables these perspectives to benefit our clients while reflecting the communities in which we live, work and operate.
Finally, we ask you to reflect on and consider the data: across our three global offices, 45% of our staff are women. We are also celebrating five generations of professionals. Generation Z is entering the SB workforce as students, Millennials are beginning to lead the count, and GenXers represent the majority of our employees today. Evidence of the continuing strength, diversity, and inclusivity of our family. Congratulations to each and every one of you.
It is important to note that Architecture is a team sport, especially at SB Architects. Each year, we award one staff with the Gary Hicks Award. Gary Hicks’ job required him to work with hundreds of individuals with varying levels of experience, temperament, and personality. There are few employees that Gary had not worked with on an individual basis. Gary brought professionalism and positivity to SB Architects. As a gesture of respect and to ensure that we both remember and emulate the qualities that Gary so generously shared with the firm, we created an award in his name and honor. This year, we were proud to present the award to our CFO, John Cisco. John emulates the essence of the award with his continued work ethic, disposition, expertise, and results.
